In its prosperous period of development between the 11th and 13th centuries, the Pagan Kingdom built more than 10,000 Buddhist temples and monasteries throughout the Bagan plain. Of which, about 2,200 temples still exist today. Mandatory to Bagan, like any tourist traveling to Myanmar, I hope that this place will not be too crowded. After a long bus ride in the night, I reached Bagan before dawn. The city is still sleepy, then I get off the bus and climb a carriage to enter the city. And my adventure was about to begin!</div>

Since I booked a hotel room before, I was not worried about the unexpected risk of accommodation. The friendly driver drove me to the front of the hotel, waiting for me to finish my check-in, and guide me to the sunrise. It was 5am, so I did not hesitate when he said he would take me to nearby Shwei Leik Too Temple, which he said was a great place to watch the sun rise.</div>

When we arrived, there were not too many tourists there, I met a friendly Chinese girl riding on a bicycle, we talked and climbed a temple and Waiting for the sun to appear. Not letting us wait for a long time, the sun rose from the horizon, and painted large plains with many different tones, initially orange and then yellow. As the driver of the chariot said, this is a great place to look at Bagan's temples in the sunlight, and see the surrounding scenery. And I had a great start to Bagan.</div>

Bagan- the best place to see sunset

They are such perfect places for those who prefer solitude over travelers elbowing their way to a spectacular view.  Buledi is a really good place for sunrise or sunset.<br />

With some 4000 pagodas among a 20 mile square radius at the Bagan archaeological site, you can easily find the ones that do not witness the masses that the main ones can. There is just a set of stairs getting to the first platform but requiring some climbing to get to the second and the third platforms. It is not difficult to find this unnamed temple from Anawrata Road. For the best photos looking south towards Old Bagan, make sure to stay for 30 minutes after sunset. Although not being particularly high, it is such an ideal spot to enjoy the plains own your own at sunrise just to catch up on your journal or take everything in. On your journey getting access to the temple off the Bagan-Nyaung U Road south of Hti-Lo-Min-Lo at the Raya-Nda-Zu group: Until seeing sandy road on the left, you have to follow the increasingly more sandy road.    <br />

As Oak Kyaung Gyi is off the beaten track, travelers are likely to share this with only a few other tourists for sunrise. Have your headlamp ready as this is such a dark place. Keep going up, there is only one way leading to the peak.  If you stick around a little after the sun dips below the horizon, and the lights come on, you can admire the particularly good views of Hti-lo-min-lo at sunset. Just off the Nyaung-U / Old Bagan road, it is easier to get access to Shwe Leik Too than Oak Kyaung Gyi.  You will be likely to have neighboring South Guni, which is a bit shorter and a bit further away from Dhamma-yan-gyi to yourself at sunrise. North Guni, which is situated behind Dhamma-yan-gyi on a slightly sandy road, is a great sunrise place.  South of Min-Nan-Thu village junction, this would be a longer drive in the dark after sunset and a tough one to get to from Nyaung U for sunrise, but if you are staying at New Bagan, possibly an excellent one.  You will be out on the water about 2:30 PM or 3:00 PM to enjoy enough time checking out the spectacular temples on shore, and be back on the river to admire incredible sunset on the Ayeyarwaddy. <a href="https://www.indochinavoyages.com/holiday_locations/myanmar/">Myanmar tour packages</a><br />
